Dama is a Korean restaurant concept located in Chicago. The essence of authentic Asian cuisine served as my primary inspiration for this project. To convey the cultural and culinary heritage, I incorporated chopsticks into the design, mirroring their prominent role in Asian dining. These chopstick graphics are constructed using sketched lines, a reference to Seoye, which is Korean calligraphy. This artistic choice was influenced by the characteristic brush-like strokes in Seoye, which are deeply rooted in Korean culture. In terms of color, I drew from the red hues found on the Korean flag, making it the predominant color in the design. Red is known for its ability to evoke feelings of hunger, making it a fitting choice for a restaurant. The design ultimately portrays chopsticks lifting buns, creating a visual connection with the Eastern culinary theme, which is further enhanced through the use of Asian-inspired fonts.
